The Witch Who Was Afraid of Witches, by Alice Low
1. The weakest witch, Wendy, was also the youngest witch in her family.
2. She was afraid of witches like her two sisters who were older, bossy, and mean.
3. Her older sister, Pollly, seemed to know everything, like where to get the best sassafrass wood for broomsticks, the best frogs' toes for witches' brew, and she even knew where to get the best books for witches' spells.
4. One day Polly was going to the sassafrass grove, and Wendy begged, "Please Polly, take me with you."
5. Polly responded, "Why should I take you, you don't even know the right kind of wood for a broomstick. You're too young, don't know anything, and you'll never learn."
6. Wog , Wendy's middle sister, seemed to do everything the best.
